Mank is one of the five must-watch movies on Netflix this weekend

It’s that time of the week again. The weekend is here, and now you’re looking for the must-watch movies on Netflix.

There’s plenty to watch this weekend. Tuesday saw the first-of-the-month drop, which brought a mixture of comedy, action, and family-friendly offerings. And there were also plenty of other releases throughout the rest of the week.

Feeling a little overwhelmed by the full list? Don’t worry about it! Here are the top five must-watch movies on Netflix this weekend.

Mank

The list starts with the biggest release of the week. Mank dropped on Netflix on Dec. 4, and it is the top pick for so many people this weekend. Whether you’ve seen Citizen Kane or not, you will need to tune in for the movie. And if you haven’t seen Citizen Kane yet, make sure you watch it afterward.

Mank stars Gary Oldman as screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz. It focuses on the development of the script for Citizen Kane, as well as a look at Mankiewicz’s struggle with addiction and mental health problems.

Angela’s Christmas Wish

For something a little more light-hearted and family-friendly, you’ll want to check out the Netflix movie Angela’s Christmas Wish, the heartwarming sequel to the 2017 movie Angela’s Christmas.

During this movie, Angela’s father is working away in Australia. Her only wish for the holidays is for her family to reunite during the holiday season. Is it a wish that could come true?

It isn’t quite as good as the first movie, but it’s still packed with beautiful songs and a lot of heart. The kids will love it.

Kung Fu Panda 2

There’s another movie this weekend for the kids. Kung Fu Panda 2 is now available on Netflix. Make it one of your top picks for the weekend.

In this sequel, Dragon warrior Po decides to foil the plans of Shen, the murderous peacock who wants to destroy kung fu and conquer China. However, Po will need to look into his past and unlock a mystery to succeed.

Jurassic Park

Looking for something epic? How about Jurassic Park? The 1993 movie has to make the list of the must-watch movies on Netflix this weekend. There is no getting around it.

Reenter the magic that is Jurassic Park. Watch the mistakes the humans make and witness the dinosaurs walk the earth again. The kids will love it, and so will you!

The Happytime Murders

Finally, it’s all about the 2018 comedy with Melissa McCartney, The Happytime Murders. Phil Philips is a detective down on his luck. He’s also a puppet. Yes, a puppet!

When two puppets from an old TV show turn up dead, Phil rejoins the LAPD as a consultant, where he’s reunited with his human partner from back in the day, Connie Edwards. The two need to work together again to figure out who the murder is before another puppet ends up dead.
