Fans of the Netflix Original series, Virgin River, are ready to pack their bags and head to the filming location for an amazing getaway. But, hold on, the fictional town of Virgin River isn’t located in Northern California. It doesn’t actually exist anywhere on a map.

Much like Riverdale, Hawkins, Indiana, Stars Hollow and the many other TV towns and cities, Virgin River is a fictional town.

Obviously, Virgin River is filmed in a real place, though.

You can visit many of the locations where the series is filmed.

Where is Virgin River filmed?

Virgin River is filmed in multiple locations in Vancouver, British Columbia and other places nearby.

This series is based on novels written by Robyn Carr, who has to constantly remind people that Virgin River is a fictional place. She told Entertainment Weekly that people always write and ask about the location.

And it is easy to see why people are so excited about the location. The scenery is breathtaking, making it an idyllic place to film a romantic drama.

The Vancouver tourism board even has a wonderful itinerary mapped out so you can explore many of the filming sites.

Below, we shared a post from the Squamish Instagram page where The Watershed Grill is located. This spot served as a filming site for the restaurant owned by Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson). The cabin that serves as Mel Monroe’s house (Alexandra Breckenridge) is actually the caretaker’s home located in Canada’s Murdo Frazer Park.

Doc Mullins (Tim Matheson) practice is located in New Westminister, and the Victorian home is for sale if you are in the market.

The series follows Mel Monroe (Breckenridge) and her move to the quiet town of Virgin River to escape old memories and restart her life. She meets Jack Sherdian (Henderson), and that just makes life more complicated.

This series is wildly popular on Netflix not only for its amazing scenery but for the storyline that pulls you in and keeps you wanting more.

Luckily, there is more story to tell. Netflix has already renewed Virgin River for season 3.

We’re hoping to see Virgin River season 3 in 2021, but Netflix has not announced the release date yet.
