New shows and movies are coming to Netflix all the time, which unfortunately means that content is always leaving, too. I hate to be the one to tell you this, but Nurse Jackie is leaving the streaming platform next month.

The series initially premiered on Showtime and ran from 2009 until its conclusion in 2015.

The medical drama stars Edie Falco as a nurse named Jackie Peyton who works in a New York City hospital. However, her life and career are affected by her addiction to painkillers, which Jackie keeps a secret from her coworkers and loved ones.

Even though the premise sounds pretty serious, the series is primarily a comedy and it’s definitely worth the watch. I would recommend checking it out before it’s no longer on Netflix. It was nominated for 24 Primetime Emmy Awards over the course of its run, ultimately winning five.

When is Nurse Jackie leaving Netflix?

Unfortunately, Nurse Jackie is leaving Netflix on December 30.

The show also stars Merritt Wever, Paul Schulze, Dominic Fumusa, Ruby Jerins, Stephen Wallem, Anna Deavere Smith, Peter Facinelli, and Mackenzie Aladjem.

If you’re sad to see this awesome series go, then there are a few shows like it that you can watch on Netflix. There are a ton of medical dramas on the streaming platform, including Virgin River, RatchedGrey’s Anatomy, and its spinoff Private Practice.

Fans of Edie Falco will be happy to hear that there are a couple of films on Netflix that feature her. You can watch her in Outside In and The Land of Steady Habits.
