5 great shows to watch on Netflix this weekend, including Grey’s Anatomy
It is quite hard to believe that this is the weekend before the Thanksgiving holiday. But, here we are, and you need something great to keep you occupied this weekend. Netflix has so many great choices for shows that you view right now.
Here are five great TV dramas to watch for the weekend of November 21-22.
Grey’s Anatomy
This week, Grey’s Anatomy has had a lot of excitement. The season 17 two-hour premiere has really gotten people talking. It sounds like it is a good time to re-watch or watch this series if you never have.
Netflix has seasons 1-16 available to stream now.
This series follows Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), a surgical resident, and her time at Seattle Grace Hospital (later called Seattle Grace Mercy West and then Grey Sloan Memorial). This hospital is full of beautiful people and so much drama. You can turn away.
The cast members are vast, and some of the cast that joins Pompeo include Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, T. R. Knight, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Isaiah Washington, Patrick Dempsey and Kate Walsh.
It is a true medical drama filled with many great storylines and an outstanding cast.
Dawson’s Creek
This series originally aired in1998 and concluded in 2003. Dawson’s Creek consists of six seasons, and they are all available on Netflix.
This coming of age series was a great starting point for many actors, including James Van Der Beek, Michelle Willimas, Joshua Jackson, Katie Holmes and Busy Phillips.
Dawson’s Creek follows a tight-knit group of friends from high school and onto college. Dawson (Van Der Beek) was the main character, and the story started to develop around him and then branched off to his friends.
It was wildly popular in its initial airing and has done well since it started streaming on Netflix at the beginning of the month.
Riverdale
This series is another drama, but this one is based on the characters of Archie Comics. Riverdale is the series title as well as the small town the series is based in. There are four seasons available on Netflix, and the series has been renewed for a fifth season.
If you are familiar with Archie Comics, Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead are familiar to you, and the actors who play them are KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and Cole Spouse, respectively. Jughead serves as the narrator for the series.
When one of the local Blossom twins, Jason, is murdered, Archie and his crew investigate Riverdale’s mysteries and the murder.
It is a teen drama that focuses on the lives of a group of high schoolers dealing with everyday high school drama and the burden of finding out who murdered Jason.
Virgin River
This romantic drama will release its second season on Netflix on Nov. 27. this weekend is a perfect time to watch the first season in preparation for the second.
Alexandra Breckenridge plays a nurse, Melinda Monroe, who has moved to a remote California town of Virgin River. She is out to start a new life by trying to outrun old memories and figures a small town is the best place to do that.
Breckenridge is joined by castmates Martin Henderson, Colin Lawrence, Jenny Cooper, Lauren Hammersley, Annette O’Toole and Tim Matheson in this tale of new beginnings.
Sweet Magnolias
Sweet Magnolias was released in May 2020, and by July of the same year, it was renewed for a second season. It is a delightful tale of a group of women who have been best friends since childhood.
JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott and Heather Headley play the three best friends, Maddie, Dana and Helen, respectively, who are there for each other no matter how complex the situation can get. Jamie Lynn Spears and Chris Klein also star in this series.
Fans love the real feel of this series. They can relate to the experiences the characters are going through.
It is a sweet romantic drama that is worth the watch.
