Is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation on Netflix? Sadly, it is not. But don’t fret. All is not lost this holiday season.

If you want to add this funny and festive film to your binge list, you still can. While this holiday favorite is not offered by Netflix right now, it can be found elsewhere. But before we get to that, here’s what to know about 1989’s National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation before you sit down to watch it.

It’s definitely one of the iconic holiday flicks you absolutely don’t want to miss!

What is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation about?

Meet the Griswolds. They’re a classic American family preparing for their holiday family celebration, including all of its annual traditions, like hunting down the perfect family Christmas tree which proves to be easier said than done.

Things for Clark (the father role made famous by Chevy Chase) rarely run smoothly when it comes to putting together a family event, and Christmas is no exception. It might be the funniest of the National Lampoon’s franchise, but you’ll have to decide that much for yourself.

All of the classic Griswold family mishaps is where the comedy magic in this one really happens.

In the movie, it won’t just be Clark, his wife Ellen, and their two kids celebrating, because someone else is taking a Christmas vacation. Unprepared for family guests who wind up crashing their holiday and borderline appear to move in, any well-laid plans Clark might’ve had fly completely off the rails. And of course, there’s a heartwarming twist at the end. It is a Christmas movie, after all.
