Calling all American Horror Story fanatics! Another Ryan Murphy project is in the works!

As reported by SlashFilm, there’s an AHS companion series on the way, titled American Horror Stories. Each of the 16 episodes in the first season will feature a standalone story, as well as some familiar faces from American Horror Story. How exciting.

All Murphy revealed along with the spinoff’s poster is the following:

"We are doing 16 one hour stand-alone episodes delving into horror myths, legends and lore…many of these episodes will feature AHS stars you know and love. More to follow…"

Since we don’t have many details as of now regarding American Horror Stories, let’s discuss what we know about AHS season 10. As reported by Elle, season 10 of the horror anthology series started production last month, and new episodes are expected to premiere in 2021.

For the last few months, Ryan Murphy has been posting photos that contain clues about season 10 of AHS on his Instagram account. I don’t know about you, but these hints have had me stumped.

Pointy teeth, tattoos, and New England beaches? I’ve been having such a hard time putting all of these clues together. Here are a few of my ideas about what the theme could be: Undead pirates, sirens, cursed sea creatures, or some type of Jaws-like situation.

The pointy teeth clue is making me think of Davy Jones’ spooky crew in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. I feel like American Horror Story has been on for so long at this point that Ryan Murphy really has to get creative when thinking about themes for each new season.

The most important clue by far is the location: Provincetown, Massachusetts. After doing some quick research, my best guess is that this season has to do with pirates.

In fact, there’s a museum in Provincetown dedicated to the Whydah Gally, a passenger, cargo, and slave ship that was captured by a pirate named Captain Samuel “Black Sam” Bellamy. The Whydah was then used to plunder other ships until it sunk off the coast of Massachusetts during a violent storm in 1717.

I think that season 10 will take inspiration from this incident. Perhaps the long-dead crew of the Whydah is back to seek revenge for a past slight!

Who else can’t wait for AHS season 10 and American Horror Stories? These are going to be awesome. The new spinoff does not have a release date yet.
