How many episodes will Money Heist season 5 have?

One of the downsides about Money Heist being renewed for a fifth season was that it was also confirmed as the last season. However, it won’t feel like it’s ending as quickly as we feared.

Money Heist season 5 will be two episodes longer than previous seasons. What’s On Netflix reports that the season will have 10 episodes. We’re used to eight!

This is the opposite of what we often experience, especially right now. Due to filming delays and episodes taking longer than normal to film when productions do start, most seasons have dropped episode orders. Chris Chibnall recently announced that Doctor Who season 13 would have eight episodes instead of the usual 11.

So, getting an extra two is excellent news. And it means we’re getting a finale that is written as a finale. There shouldn’t be any questions left unanswered.

Has the pandemic delayed Money Heist season 5?

The series films in Spain, a country that has faced high numbers of cases of the pandemic. Filming for the fifth season has also traveled the world, filming in Copenhagen, Denmark and Lisbon, Portugal among other places.

While there was a small delay in starting, filming has mostly been on track. The producers knew that due to protocols it would take longer to film the episodes, and filming is set to continue throughout the next couple of months and into the new year.

Filming would also be extended to add in the extra couple of episodes. It usually takes at least a week to 10 days to film one episode of a TV show.

However, there are no plans to push the fifth and final season of the series to 2022. We don’t have a date in 2021 yet, but Money Heist season 5 is set to drop next year.
