Why you should be excited for Emily in Paris season 2
The Netflix original series Emily in Paris had a successful first season, which found the series on Nielsen’s top ten most-watched streaming shows for the release week. The internet was abuzz with talk of the wildly popular romantic comedy. Now, it has been announced that the series will continue for a second season.
There were many people not thrilled with the portrayal of Paris and the people who live there. Personally, I loved the escape from everything going on in this world.
The series stars Lily Collins as the title character, Emily, who leaves American for a dream job in Paris. She encounters much culture shock from what she thought life in Paris would be to what it actually is. Her co-workers are not thrilled with the idea of an American coming to give her perspective on how a Paris run marketing firm should be.
With the new season’s announcement, it gives fans a chance to think about why they are excited about the return of this series.
Below are 5 reasons to get excited about Emily in Paris season 2.
1. More Gabriel
Honestly, that is reason enough to tune in to the second season. With his great smile and overall personality, Gabriel is definitely a reason to be excited to watch this series. In season one, Emily and Gabriel finally came around to taking their relationship to the next level. With their meet-cute and obvious chemistry, it was only a matter of time before the two acted on their feelings. The hope is that this relationship will continue in the next season.
2. More Sylvie
We have to find out more about what has made Emily’s boss Sylvie into who she is today. She is a career-oriented person and will do whatever it takes to climb to the top. But, she also has some intimacy and trust issues. Why? It would be awesome to get some back story on this character.
3. Gabriel’s Restaurant
It will be exciting to see in what direction Gabriel takes his restaurant. He has been a chef for a while, and now he will own his own restaurant and can dictate what is served
4. Travel
Since Emily has never been to any other places in Europe, it would be awesome to see her go off exploring. We’ve gotten to see some seriously beautiful scenery in Paris now let’s see some more of Europe.
5. Carrie Bradshaw Cameo
In an interview with Harpers Bazaar, Collins was excited when the suggestion was made about a possible Carrie Bradshaw cameo. Now that would be something to get excited about. Darren Star, Emily in Paris creator, is also the genius behind Bradshaw’s Sex in the City. It would be safe to assume he could talk Sarah Jessica Parker into a cameo for this series.
It is tough to say when we can expect a release for the second season of Emily in Paris but probably not until late 2021 or even early 2022. But, it is sure to be with the wait!
