Barbarians season 2: Has Netflix renewed or canceled Barbarians?

It’s official, folks! Netflix has renewed the German series Barbarians for a second season. We’re mightily excited to be returning to this somewhat historical world where tensions are high between the Romans and the Germanic tribes that want them off their land.

Season 1 concluded with the Battle of Teutoburg Forest, a bloody and consequential fight that decidedly determined who held power in the region.

We presume Barbarians season 2 will deal with the aftermath of the battle, shifts in power among the tribes, and loose ends that threaten to bring what was built in season one tumbling down.

We’ve already speculated a bit about what season two may have in store for us, but we’re pretty sure Arminius (Laurence Rupp) and Thusnelda (Jeanne Goursaud) will remain leads considering the history the series draws from still very much holds them at the center.

As for Folkwin Wolfspeer (David Schütter), he made a vow to Arminius in the season finale that could change everything, so we believe his promise will come into play somewhere in season two.

That’s all the news we have for you concerning Barbarians. It’s still too early to know much about season two though we’re sure our resident history buffs have some ideas.
