Texas: Sadie Sink

Stranger Things’ connection with Texas comes from Sadie Sink who plays Max Mayfield. She was born in Texas She started at the beginning of season 2 and has become a full character on the show through season 3.

While Max started off as antagonistic to Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will, she soon became their friends and eventually, Lucas’s girlfriend. In season 3, she had a special role since it was her brother, Billy, who was “infected” with The Mind Flayer, killing people, and recruiting others for the Mind Flayer to take over. She may not have liked her brother, but she didn’t want to see him die.

Besides Stranger Things, Sadie was in an episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and will soon be in the first two Fear Street adaptations based on the R.L. Stine books.

But Max isn’t the only link the show has to The Lone Star State, The band that does the musical score for Stranger Things is called SURVIVE and consists of Michael Stein, Adam Jones, Mark Donica, and Kyle Dixon.

The band is a local Austin, Texas band and Stein and Dixon have created the music for the whole Stranger Things series so far. They even created the Stranger Things theme song that fans have come to know so well.
