The Addams Family is leaving Netflix soon
Say it ain’t so! According to Collider, The Addams Family is officially leaving Netflix this month.
Based on the cartoon characters created by Charles Addams, The Addams Family is the ultimate Halloween movie. Starring Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, Christopher Lloyd, Christina Ricci, and Jimmy Workman, the film tells the story of the titular Addams family, a morbid, aristocratic bunch who are elated to reconnect with a long-lost relative. However, this new addition is not who he appears to be.
The film is funny, spooky, and just a good time all around. Morticia Addams’ style is truly iconic and the Addams are a unique family. Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, and Pugsley do everything a bit more macabre than most people would, but that’s what makes them great! It’s also what makes the movie so memorable almost 30 years after it premiered in 1991.
The sequel, Addams Family Values, was released two years later, and may I just say that it’s some of Joan Cusack’s best work.
When is The Addams Family leaving Netflix?
Unfortunately, The Addams Family will be departing Netflix for greener pastures on November 15. Other films leaving Netflix on that date include 9, Abominable Christmas, and Drive. Perhaps the streaming platform is trying to make room for its influx of original holiday movies like Operation Christmas Drop and Holidate. ‘Tis the season, after all.
The Addams Family will still be on the streaming platform until November 15, so get in another watch while you still can! If you want to check out other movies on Netflix like this one, then consider watching The Witches or ParaNorman.
