Carmel: Who Killed Maria Marta release date on Netflix
The next Netflix true crime docuseries is almost here. Carmel: Who Killed Maria Marta premieres on Netflix on Thursday, Nov. 5.
If you’re a late-night true crime watcher, you can start watching the new Netflix original docuseries at 12:01 a.m. PT on the release date. I probably won’t be staying up late to watch on Wednesday night, but I’m sure some true crime fans will be.
The docuseries tells the story of the death of Maria Marta Garcia Belsunce in Argentina. Maria Marta was killed at her home in Buenos Aires in 2002. Initially, her death was ruled accidental.
Later, it was discovered during an autopsy that Maria Marta had been shot in the head.
In the docuseries, you’ll see the investigation into her death, how law enforcement bungled the beginning of the investigation, and what happened after she was killed.

Carmel: Who Killed Maria Marta will most certainly be one of the most-watch Netflix documentary shows over the coming weeks. Netflix has carved out a big space in the true crime genre, and they continue to release popular documentaries, docuseries, and investigative shows that fans like to watch.
Most recently, Netflix added new episodes of Unsolved Mysteries. Many of those episodes are of the true crime variety. American Murder: The Family Next Door premiered on Netflix at the end of September 2020, and it occupied the top spot on the Netflix Top 10 for a time. I’m expecting this new docuseries about the murder of Maria Marta to also hit the Netflix Top 10 and maybe even move all the way up to the top spot.
