Netflix shares Bridgerton trailer

An invitation to view the teaser trailer for Bridgerton has been extended to us all. Netflix’s original period drama, Bridgerton, will release on December 25, but for now, we have to settle for only a teaser of what this drama will entail.

Bridgerton is coming to Netflix on Christmas Day.

The trailer gives us all the sights and sounds we could expect from a Regency period drama but with something more. The beautiful narrative voice of Julie  Andrews. Andrews plays Lady Whistledown, the mysterious author of a tabloid filled with all the latest gossip.

This series is brought to you by the genius that is Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal), who is joined by showrunner Chris Van Dusen (Grey’s Anatomy). This will mark Rhimes’ Netflix debut. People reports that this is the first project of Rhimes eight-show deal with Netflix.

Bridgerton will star Phoebe Dynevor, Regé-Jean Page, Ruth Gemmel, Jonathan Bailey, Luke Thompson, Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie, Ruby Stokes, Will Tilston and Florence Hunt.

This series is based on a set of best selling novels written by Julia Quinn titled The Bridgerton Series. The novels follow the Bridgerton family and are set in the Regency period. This series marks the first mass-market romance novels to be adapted into a series. A novel for each of the eight Bridgerton siblings is encouraging for fans because there is a lot of content that can be covered over many seasons.
