Is Casper on Netflix?
In 1995, the live-action and computer-animated movie Casper was released in theaters. Now, it’s coming to Netflix.
The movie will be available to stream on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020. The movie will be released on Netflix at 12:01 a.m. PT. If you stay up late on Halloween, you can watch the movie as soon as it’s available to stream.
It’ll be one of the first movies added to Netflix in November.
Unfortunately, the movie will not be available to stream on Halloween, but you can still watch Halloween night, but as mentioned, you’ll have to stay up late.
For all of the 90s kids, this is a great movie to watch for nostalgic purposes and a chance to introduce your kids to Casper, the friendly ghost.
This film starred a young Christina Ricci as Kat and her dad, Dr. Harvey, was played by Bill Pullman. The duo moved into Whipstaff Manor, located in Friendship, Maine, that was inherited by the spoiled Carrigan Crittenden (Cathy Moriarty). She discovered the manor was haunted and hired Dr. Harvey, a paranormal therapist, to rid the home of its poltergeist.
The manor was haunted by Casper, who was voiced by Malachi Pearson and played by Devon Sawa. His three terrible uncles, Stretch, Stinkie, and Fatso (Joe Nipote, Jo Alaskey, and Brad Garrett), also terrorized anyone who entered the home.
Casper was originally introduced in the 1950s as a cartoon character. This film goes a bit deeper and darker than the original Casper. It deals with death on a real level and explains how Casper became a ghost. Kat also experiences some real emotions in dealing with her mother’s death.
It is a fun film and it also contains some great cameos. Don Novella, as Father Guido Sarducci, Dan Aykroyd as Ray Stantz, Fred Rogers, Clint Eastwood, Rodney Dangerfield, Mel Gibson and John Kassir as the Crypt Keeper.
Be sure to check out Casper on Nov. 1 on Netflix.
