Making a Murderer

Making a Murderer is a stirring documentary series revolving around Steve Avery, a man who was wrongfully convicted of rape and then, in the midst of a devastating civil case against Manitowoc County, finds himself accused and then convicted of murder. Avery is charged along with his nephew Brandon Dassey in a court case that is full of suspicious moves, nefarious behavior, and substantial evidence suggesting that evidence tampering could have occurred. The murder of Teresa Halbach is riddled with questions and unknowns, and no matter how people look at this investigation, something just isn’t right.

While it isn’t clear as day, the Netflix docuseries does paint an interesting picture alleging that if an entity was to make it seem like someone committed a heinous crime in order to avoid a $36 million civil suit, this is what it could look like. From the early days when Avery was first taken into custody to the uphill battle both individuals go through with their legal teams in their quest for justice, every detail of this ordeal is covered by the dedicated filmmakers of Making a Murderer, who put together two extremely captivating seasons that will most certainly pique the interest of any true crime fanatic.
