Are you up to date on your Best Picture winners? Probably not, and that’s totally okay. But catching up on the Oscar-nominated films of past and present can be possible on Netflix. Currently, you can add Spotlight to your watch list and take in the true story of the The Boston Globe’s investigative journalism team known as Spotlight. Together, the team won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service in 2003 for their work exposing the systemic child sexual abuse by priests within the Catholic Church in the Boston area, and the movie captures the investigation.

Spotlight was both a commercial and critical success, bringing in over $98 million worldwide against a $20 million budget and earning a stellar 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film topped multiple year-end Top 10 lists and scored six Academy Award nominations, taking home two for Best Original Screenplay and Best Picture. While the riveting biographical drama won’t be for every audience, it’s certainly a must-watch for the incredible performances given by Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams and Liev Schreiber. They’ll have you hanging onto their every word.
