Must-watch movies on Netflix: The Perfection

Release Year: 2019

Directed By: Richard Shepard

Starring: Allison Williams, Logan Browning, Steven Weber, Alaina Huffman, Mark Kandborg, Graeme Duffy, Eileen Tian

Did anyone else have the creepy villain market cornered at the end of the 2010s quite like Allison Williams? After making her theatrical film debuting in 2017’s Academy Award-winning blockbuster Get Out, the erstwhile Girls star followed up with Netflix’s original psychological thriller The Perfection. Williams stars as cello prodigy Charlotte, who finds herself befriending Lizzie (Logan Browning), a new star pupil. However, the pair go down a dark and sinister path throughout the twists and turns of the unexpected thriller.

The Perfection holds a 73% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was the subject of much conversation upon its release. Williams and Browning give captivating performances as co-leads, and the story will keep you guessing until the end. Because Netflix originals have somewhat of a shorter shelf life than the average theatrical blockbuster, you might hear about The Perfection less these days. But it’s no less of a must-watch horror thriller during the so-called spooky season or anytime you just need a gripping jolt of chills and thrills. Dare we say it’s the perfect choice for a movie night?
