Right now, you might be missing the thrill of watching new, larger-than-life action movies on the big screen. Netflix doesn’t have the same effect as catching the latest massive tentpole blockbuster from the comfort of a reclining chair, but the streaming service certainly has plenty of high-octane movies to leave you on the edge of your considerably less comfortable seat. Ryan Reynolds stars in the action-thriller 6 Underground as One, the leader of a group of six individuals from around the world who have banded together with the intention of erasing their pasts for a new future.

6 Underground comes from director Michael Bay, who’s known for huge action epics like Transformers, Bad Boys and Armageddon, among many others. The film premiered on Netflix in December 2019 and quickly become a hit, grabbing the attention of 83 million households during its first month of release, according to the streamer. Even though the film didn’t wow critics and holds only a 36% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s a welcome escape for its target audience of action fans and adrenaline junkies. If that sounds like you, 6 Underground is a must-watch.
