You never forget when a movie star really broke through, and for Academy Award winner Emma Stone, it’s Easy A. Over the years, the 2010 teen comedy has grown into a millennial classic in the same vein as Mean Girls: a beloved, quotable time capsule that never gets old. Stone stars as high school wallflower Olive Penderghast, whose squeaky clean reputation goes south when a rumor about losing her virginity goes viral around school. Leaning into her promiscuous new persona, she helps guys out by pretending to sleep with them. However, wearing the scarlet letter has its price.

Easy A proved a box office hit, bringing in $75 million worldwide against a mere budget of $8 million, and wowed critics with its 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. For her starring role, Emma Stone landed a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress — Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, her first major award nomination. It’s sharp, energetic and a classic teen tale of trial and error. Even a decade later, Easy A remains a must-watch movie for Emma Stone’s fearless performance and all of those memorable quotes and quips that live rent-free in our heads.
