What makes an iconic romantic comedy? How about an unexpected ending, a memorable music moment and a leading character so dynamic you’re not sure if you love her or hate her. My Best Friend’s Wedding has it all, and that’s why it’s generally regarded as one of the greatest romantic comedies of all time. Julia Roberts stars as Jules Potter, a food critics who realizes she’s in love with her best friend and back-up husband, Michael (Dermot Mulroney). With four days until his wedding to Kimmy (Cameron Diaz), Jules plots to win him back for herself at all costs necessary.

My Best Friend’s Wedding garnered mostly positive reception from critics with its 73% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and proved itself a box office sensation. The film brought in just shy of $300 million worldwide and grabbed three Golden Globe nominations, including Best Motion Picture — Comedy and Best Actress in a Comedy for Roberts. If you haven’t watch the ’90s classic in some time, you’re overdue for a movie night, and if you’ve never seen this pop culture staple, it’s about time to “say a little prayer for you” and give in to the most must-watch rom-com you’ll ever see.
