When is Stranger Things season 4 coming to Netflix? Not soon.

Stranger Things season 4 is not coming to Netflix soon.

In an interview with The Independent, Stranger Things star Natalia Dyer said it would be “a while” until Stranger Things season 4 is released.

That’s very much in line with what we’ve been saying for a long time. Stranger Things season 4 is not coming to Netflix this year and it’s probably not coming to Netflix early next year.

Had production not been delayed for six months earlier this year, Stranger Things season 4 would have been released in early 2021. We thought the season would have premiered around Valentine’s Day. Now, it’s looking like we’ll have to wait at least another six months past that date, and probably even a little more, until we see Stranger Things season 4 on Netflix.

No matter the wait, Dyer said the wait will be well worth it when season 4 arrives on Netflix.

Here’s what she told The Independent:

"“Honestly, the scripts are great,” Dyer said. “Every time we end a season, we all think, ‘Where is this going to go? Where can this possibly go?’ Then we get the scripts for the next season and we’re like, ‘Oh my god, wow, like, wow!’”"

That’s also in line with what we’ve heard from other cast members and the Duffer Brothers who have teased an ever darker fourth season of the Netflix original series.

I can’t wait to see what’s next for this series. There are so many directions season 4 can go, but we know that we’re going to see the show leave Hawkins for the first time. I mean, I know they went to Chicago in Stranger Things season 2 and 3, but that doesn’t really count!

The Byers left Hawkins with Eleven at the end of season 3, so we’ll see a new setting there. We also know Hopper is stuck in a Russian prison. Earlier this year, and before everything shut down, Stranger Things filmed scenes with David Harbour in Lithuania before moving back to Georgia.

In December 2020, Stranger Things season 4 moves at least some of production to New Mexico. We have to assume that has to do with the Byers storyline, but we can’t be sure yet.

Stranger Things Day is coming up on Friday, Nov. 6. Hopefully, we’ll get to see a teaser trailer or something for the new season! Last year, they shared the title of the first episode of season 4, “The Hellfire Club.”
