The search for an actor to portray a young Colin Kaepernick in Ava DuVernay’s upcoming Colin in Black & White series has come to an end, and the casting couldn’t be more perfect. Jaden Michael, a 17-year old actor known for Vampires vs. the Bronx, will bring an adolescent version of the former NFL quarterback and civil rights activist to life in the upcoming Netflix series.

Kaepernick made the announcement on Tuesday morning, sharing side by side photos to show the uncanny resemblance between himself and Michael. Indeed, they look like they could be brothers.

“I never thought I would be casting a young me in a show about my life,” he wrote in the post. “I can’t wait for the world to see [Jaden Michael] be an all-star on [Netflix].”

Michael posted his own message, thanking DuVernay and Kaepernick for casting him. “Wow, it’s truly an honor to be given this opportunity,” he wrote. “Can’t wait to bring this much needed story to life, especially in these trying times.”
