When does Riverdale season 5 premiere?

If the rumors are to be believed, Riverdale season 5 premieres on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021.

Riverdale set decorator Denise Nadredre revealed the release date in an Instagram story posted to her account.

The CW has not confirmed the Riverdale season 5 premiere date, so we don’t know if it’s true or not. It does seem to be in line with the midseason premieres of past seasons. We’ll have to wait until The CW confirms the premiere date until we know for sure if that’s when the hit series returns.

Last year, Riverdale returned from its midseason break on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020.

Riverdale usually premieres in October, like the other CW shows. This year, The CW pushed all its shows, basically, back to the midseason because of the pandemic.

We knew, then, that Riverdale season 5 would premiere in January 2021. We just didn’t know which Wednesday we’d see the first episode of the new season.

Hopefully, this information is right and Riverdale season 5 premieres on Jan. 20!

Riverdale season 5 is going to be a big one. Not only will we see the end of season 4, which includes prom and graduation, but we’ll also see a major time jump. It’s rumored to be seven years long! That’s a huge jump!

I can’t wait to see what happens in the new season.

When is Riverdale season 5 on Netflix?

If you live in Canada or outside of the US, you’re in luck. You can watch Riverdale season 5 on Netflix starting on Thursday, Jan. 21. Each new episode will be available to stream on Netflix the day after the episode airs on The CW.

If you’re a Riverdale fan in the US, you’ll have to wait much longer to watch Riverdale season 5 on Netflix.

The full season will air on The CW before the season hits Netflix. Per usual, the season 5 finale will air on The CW. We’ll wait eight days and then the full season will be available to stream on Netflix.

We’re anticipating the full season will be added to Netflix in July or August 2021. Normally, the Riverdale seasons run from October to May. With the January premiere, we think the season finale will air sometime in July or early August.

We’ll let you know more about Riverdale season 5 as we find out. For now, prepare for the season 5 premiere on The CW on Wednesday, Jan. 20 (or Thursday, Jan. 21 if you live outside the US) or the full season to be added to Netflix sometime in the summer of 2021.
