Starring Lily James and Armie Hammer, Rebecca premiered on Netflix on October 21. As we’ve previously reported, the movie follows a young woman swept into a whirlwind romance by Maxim de Winter, a wealthy widower and the owner of Manderley, a vast English estate.
The young woman, who goes unnamed, quickly becomes the new Mrs. de Winter. Everything is coming up roses until the pair return to Manderley, where there are reminders of the first Mrs. de Winter, the titular Rebecca, around every corner. Determined to keep her sanity and her husband, the young woman must unravel the mystery surrounding Rebecca’s death.
The film is based on the novel of the same name by Daphne du Maurier and was previously adapted for the silver screen by Alfred Hitchcock.
