Why did Cobra Kai move to Netflix?
Cobra Kai is the latest show that started at another network or streaming service and eventually made its way to Netflix.
The series is a sequel to The Karate Kid movies. It premiered on YouTube Red in 2018. Despite how good this series is, it didn’t really hit it big until it was added to Netflix in the summer of 2020. Two seasons aired on YouTube Red.
Netflix acquired the series earlier this year, and the first two seasons of Cobra Kai were added to Netflix in August 2020. It was a big deal! Netflix subscribers fell in love with Cobra Kai, and it was one of the most-watched shows of the late summer and fall.
Netflix also renewed Cobra Kai for a third season, which is slated to premiere on Netflix on Jan. 8, 2021.
Cobra Kai has already been renewed for season 4 at Netflix. That means at least two more seasons of the hit series are headed to Netflix soon!
We can’t wait to see what’s in store for Cobra Kai season 3 and season 4 on Netflix. I’m willing to bet we’ll see even more seasons of the hit series at Netflix.
