Rebecca is one of the must-see movies on Netflix this weekend

The weekend is an excellent time to catch up on new releases, and there were certainly plenty throughout the week on Netflix. Need to narrow down your choices? It’s time to find the must-see movies on Netflix for this weekend.

We got a mixture of content, with something for families and something for horror fans. You’ll find something to keep you entertained on this list. Here are the five must-see movies on Netflix for the weekend.

Rebecca

We start with the biggest release on Netflix from the week. Rebecca is the latest retelling of the Daphne du Maurier novel. It doesn’t quite hit the mark, but it is still something worth checking out for Armie Hammer and Lily James fans. Those who love psychological thrillers will want to check it out, just to see if the story stays true to the source material.

Carol

Next up is another movie with the name of a woman as the title. the name is for the love interest in this tale, played by Cate Blanchett. Therese Belivet (Rooney Mara) works in a Manhattan department store. One day, Carol walks into the store and Therese develops strong feelings for her. Will Carol return those feelings?

Based on the 1952 novel The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith, Carol gained six Oscar nominations. It’s now available to stream on Netflix.

Yes, God, Yes

Yes, God, Yes sounds like just another move about religion, but it’s much more. It’s a coming of age story that focuses on sexual orientation and strict upbringing. While in an AOL chatroom, a Catholic girl finds herself having unexpected sexual thoughts. The chat turns racy, and this Catholic girl has to figure out what she wants to happen in her life afterward.

Cadaver

The next of the must-see movies on Netflix is a foreign-language offering. Netflix brought us Cadaver, a Norweigan thriller set in the aftermath of a nuclear disaster. A family accepts a charitable offer, only to find out there’s a sinister game within. When it comes to invites that are too good to be true, you should probably assume they are!

Over the Moon

The last one is perfect for families. Over the Moon is now available to stream, offering an animated tale about an ambitious young girl who wants to go to the moon. This isn’t to explore, but to meet the mythical goddess that lives up there. She isn’t going to listen to those who says she can’t do it, offering something inspirational for the youngsters in your family.
