When is Over the Moon on Netflix?

To add to the original animated movie collection on Netflix, Glen Keane’s Over the Moon is all set to debut on Friday, Oct. 23. The movie will be released at 12:01 a.m. PT. If you stay up late Thursday night, you can watch as soon as it’s on Netflix!

Helmed by two Disney veterans, the Netflix movie is going to give Disney Studios a run for their money and we can’t wait to watch it. Audrey Wells wrote the screenplay.

Featuring voices of Cathy Ang, Phillipa Soo, Ken Jeong, John Cho, Ruthie Ann Miles, Margaret Cho, and Sandra Oh, Over the Moon is based on a Chinese mythology tale and revolves around a young girl Fei Fei who builds a rocket ship to travel to the moon and meet the moon goddess.

The sci-fi adventure will definitely keep your kids entertained, so if they are tired of watching reruns of Moana and Frozen, switch things up a bit and make a children’s day out of Over the Moon.

In the latest trailer released by Netflix, we see Fei Fei (and her super adorable bunny) flying to prove that the moon goddess is real like her mother had told her. On their way, they are met with alien creatures while catchy music plays in the background. And well, the moon goddess is indeed real and not any less of a star than a Black Pink member. She’s, however, lonely and wishes to meet her one true love. In exchange for anyone who helps her meet the man of her dreams, she is willing to grant a wish. A wish that Fei Fei and her friends really need to get back to Earth.

Over the Moon was greenlit way back in 2017 and it took it three years to be ready. The movie uses traditional animation along with effects by Sony Pictures Imageworks.

Will you be watching it? Over the Moon will be available past midnight tonight on Netflix.
