Sci-fi movies on Netflix: Rim of the World (2019)

Some sci-fi films might be a little too much for the whole family to enjoy. Luckily Netflix has such a wide variety of programs available there are plenty of family-friendly science fiction stories that are very reminiscent of the kid-centered action films of the 1980s. One perfect example of this is the Netflix original science fiction adventure Rim of the World. This fun action comedy stars Billions actor Jack Gore and is helmed by The Babysitter director McG, indicating that a reliable list of players making up this film both in front of and behind the camera. It made its way to the top of Netflix’s UK top ten list right away, adding to the many reasons one should check it out.

If its accolades or the names involved don’t enact subscribers to explore what Rim of the World has to offer, then maybe the storyline will spark enough curiosity to dive in headfirst. Gore plays the main character Alex who is a social misfit who just lost his father. Reluctantly he goes to a summer camp with the same name as the movie, and along with several other outcasts, he encounters the key that may be Earth’s only hope in serving an alien invasion. Given what’s on the menu from this exciting Netflix original film, it’s safe to assume that Netflix subscribers will not be disappointed if they take a chance on Rim of the World.
