By Renee Hansen
Who will play Prince Charles in The Crown season 5?
Dominic West, best known for his roles in The Wire and The Affair, is in talks to play Prince Charles in The Crown season 5.
Many news outlets have posted that West has been lined-up for the role, but the deal isn’t done quite yet. The Sun, a British tabloid, was the first to report this news.
West would portray Prince Charles during the time in his life when it was revealed that he was having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, who would eventually become his second wife. Emerald Fennell will play Bowles in season 4. There has been no announcement if there will be an actor change for Bowles in The Crown season 5 yet.
Other newcomers would join West to the cast for season five, including Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana and Leslie Manville will play Princess Margaret.
The Crown season 4 is almost upon us! The new season premieres on Nov. 15 on Netflix.
There is much excitement surrounding this season since Princess Diana (Emma Corrin) will finally appear. Fans are also excited to know that the series will have two more seasons in its run.
At one time, it was announced that The Crown season 5 would be the end of the series, but creator Peter Morgan told Deadline that in order to do the storyline justice, the original plan for a sixth season would be needed. He also commented that the end of the series will not bring us close to the present day.
There will be quite a gap between seasons 4 and 5. It has been reported that The Crown season 5 won’t be released until 2022, which is the same amount of time between the release dates of seasons two and three, so fans are used to this timeline.
Be sure to check out The Crown season 4 on Netflix on Nov. 15!
