If you’re a fan of true crime documentaries, there are plenty out there to choose from. A new series called The Vow premiered in August on HBO and its subject matter is pretty unique.

The show examines the life of various members of NXIVM, a cult that presents itself as a pyramid marketing network. Although NXIVM promotes personal and professional development, it has been alleged that the company is a front for sex trafficking.

If The Vow sounds like something you might want to watch, then you’ve come to the right place. Without further ado, here’s everything that you need to know about the doc, including where you can watch it.

When did The Vow come out?

This docuseries premiered on August 23 of this year on HBO. The last episode aired just a few days ago on October 18. As reported by Decider, the series was renewed for a second season on October 16.

What is The Vow about?

Featuring interviews with former NXIVM and journalists who helped to publicize the cult’s crimes, The Vow takes a look at how the group ensnares people. The show also examines the transgressions of NXIVM’s leader, Keith Raniere, who is currently awaiting sentencing for racketeering, sex trafficking, forced labor conspiracy, identity theft, and production and possession of child pornography.

Is The Vow on Netflix?

Unfortunately, this one is not available to watch on Netflix at this time. The series premiered on HBO, so it can be viewed on the network’s streaming platform, HBO Max. Since the first season concluded so recently, and the show is due for another season, it’s unlikely that The Vow will be on Netflix anytime soon.
