The Haunting of Bly Manor started in 2007 at a wedding rehearsal dinner. The bride seemed like an important character, but we wouldn’t find out her true identity until the finale.

Who was the bride and was she important as it seemed? Let’s break down the big reveals at the very end.

We saw the bride throughout The Haunting of Bly Manor

Yes, the bride was important. She wasn’t just there to allow our narrator to tell a story. However, it wouldn’t be until the end that we’d find out the truth; that some of our theories were right.

The bride was Flora all grown up. At the very end, she tells our narrator, who turned out to be Jamie, that Flora was her middle name. Then at the wedding, we watched all the main people listening to the story turn to their younger selves. The bride and the “father of the bride” were Flora and Henry, the family friend and the older brother were Owen and Miles, and the narrator was definitely Jamie.

Wouldn’t Flora have heard the story before?

Didn’t this lead to a continuity error on The Haunting of Bly Manor? Wouldn’t the bride have known the story?

During the finale, Owen had told Jamie and Dani that Flora and Miles didn’t remember a thing. They remembered that they stayed at Bly Manor and there was someone called Hannah who was the housekeeper, but they didn’t remember the horrors of the time. It was something Henry wanted to remain that way. Why make children remember the scary truths when their brains had clearly blocked the traumatic memories?

The bride didn’t remember everything that happened. She would have possibly recognized the name Bly Manor, but Owen managed to prevent more questions about the story. Nobody wants Flora and Miles to remember the dark truth.

And Flora gets to marry a good man and live her happily ever after, living each day as they happen.
