Ready to get into the Halloween spirit? The Haunting of Bly Manor just dropped on Netflix today, and if you’re in the mood for some spookiness, you definitely have to check it out. This new series is the follow-up to 2018’s The Haunting of Hill House starring Carla Gugino, Michiel Huisman, and a handful of talented actors. This time around, we might have a few of the same actors, however we have a whole new setting and story.

The Haunting of Bly Manor follows protagonist Dani Clayton (played by Hill House alum Victoria Pedretti), an American au pair who comes to England and scores a job taking care of two recently orphaned children. Like Pedretti, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Kate Siegel join Bly Manor from Hill House.

Before binging the series, fans of Hill House might be wondering if star Carla Gugino would also be involved in Bly Manor. She’s not in any of the teasers or trailers, but perhaps she could be making a surprise appearance? Well, that’s exactly the case! The actress does play a key role in the new Netflix show.

The official Bly Manor Twitter account revealed the news last night, leaving fans extremely excited and curious to know what character Gugino portrays.

Who does Carla Gugino play in The Haunting of Bly Manor?

Without giving away any major spoilers, Carla Gugino plays the narrator of The Haunting of Bly Manor. The show opens up with her at a wedding rehearsal, and she begins telling the attendees the story of what happened at the manor years ago.

To find out who exactly this narrator is, you’ll have to just watch the show. There’s a big reveal at the end that’s definitely worth sticking around for!
