Stranger Things season 4 teaser features another clock

Stranger Things just shared another teaser for season 4. This time, it was an image from the set to announce the restart of production on Stranger Things season 4.

Instead of just a simple, “hey, we’re filming” photo, Stranger Things shared another image of a clock of some kind, possibly a clock tower, possibly a grandfather clock.

Now, fans are freaking about what the clock means! Leave it to Stranger Things to make the world stop turning because of a picture of a clock, but here we are.

Below, I shared a few things the clock could mean for Stranger Things season 4, which is expected to be released in 2021.

Stranger Things season 4 release date

This is too easy, I think. I mean, you can barely make out where the hands are pointing on the clock. But, for the sake of fun, I’ll play along.

It looks, to me, like the hands are at 10 and 2, which could indicate a possible release date of Oct. 2, 2021, for season 4. That’s probably about as early as we will see Stranger Things season 4 on Netflix anyway after the major delay in production.

It’s probably a stretch to assume that the Stranger Things season 4 release date would be revealed right now. There’s too much uncertainty surrounding production with the pandemic. I don’t think Netflix is going to lock in the release date with all that’s going on.

Stranger Things season 4 is about time travel

This theory is much more interesting to me. If Eleven can rip holes in the dimension, assuming that’s what happened, there’s a chance she could figure out a way to travel back in time, or to the future, to stop the Mind Flayer.

I really like this idea that the Hawkins Heroes might be doing a bit of time travel in season 4 for a few reasons, but I mostly enjoy the Back to the Future references and storylines that would happen.

The clock tower reveals where Stranger Things season 4 is set

I think this is the most likely scenario. I just can’t figure out where that clock tower actually is. I’ve compared it to the clock tower in Hawkins, Big Ben, and pretty much any clock tower I could find on Google. Obviously, the Stranger Things writers are much smarter than me. They’re not going to pick the first clock from Google images and make the season about that.

For a while, I thought this clock tower might be the Kremlin Clock, which would indicate our heroes might be traveling deep into Russia in Stranger Things season 4. That might be too obvious, but we do know that Hopper is in Russia. He is the American, and he needs to be rescued from the prison camp. I don’t know how that will happen.

SOMEONE FIND OUT WHERE THIS CLOCK IS FROM!

It’s a grandfather clock and it could be a door to the Upside Down

I think we all got thrown off a little bit by thinking the chimes in the Stranger Things season 4 teaser was Big Ben or another tower because of the “We’re not in Hawkins anymore” theme.

I don’t recall seeing any grandfather clocks in Stranger Things so far, but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t miss it. Could that clock be a door to the Upside Down? Could it be a magical door to another location? I absolutely dig both of those possible storylines.

That’s all I have for theories about the clock. Share your theories about the Stranger Things clock in the comments below!
