Is The Invitation actually scary?

Just reading the description of the 2015 film The Invitation sounds like a real nightmare that most of us have unfortunately had to experience.

In this horror film currently available on Netflix, Prometheus and Upgrade star Logan Marshall-Green headlines this unnerving dread fest where he plays a man attending the dinner party hosted by none other than his ex-wife’s home. And of course, things begin to get stranger as the night goes on, and it goes way beyond the normal awkwardness associated with such volatile situations. Apparently, this ex has a very shocking update for her friends and her former husband.

Marshall Greene’s character Will continually question his sanity throughout, trying to make sense of the harrowing ordeal he is experiencing, causing the audience to watch to all feel every bit of the dreadful tension he goes through. It’s not uncommon to constantly question whether or not your as crazy as Will sounds at certain points, and the uneasy confusion only enhances the horrifying affair. The ending of The Invitation is very unexpected, and there are several moments throughout that will have chills running up and down subscribers spines proving that Jennifer Body’s Karyn Kusama knows what she’s doing when it comes to scaring viewers.
