Will Fargo season 4 be on Netflix?
Inspired by the 1996 film of the same name, Fargo has been a hit ever since it premiered on FX in 2014.
Fargo is an anthology series, so every season features a different storyline with new characters in a new setting. The show is a crime drama that chronicles deceit, mystery, and death in and around Minnesota. However, the plot of each season somehow connects back to Fargo, North Dakota, hence the show’s title.
As the original film was written and directed by the Coen Brothers, each season of the series contains references to their previous works.
The first season of Fargo premiered in 2014 and featured Billy Bob Thornton, Allison Tolman, Colin Hanks, and Martin Freeman in the leading roles. The premiere season takes place in 2006 in Bemidji, Minnesota. It follows Lorne Malvo (Billy Bob Thornton) as he blazes a trail of destruction in the community. Meanwhile, the police are investigating a series of murders that may connect to Malvo.
The second season is set in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota in 1979. Featured actors include Kirsten Dunst, Patrick Wilson, Jesse Plemons, Jean Smart, and Ted Danson. It chronicles the lives of a couple who cover up the hit and run of Rye Gerhardt, the son of a powerful crime boss. At the same time, police investigate a homicide connected to Rye.
The show’s third season stars Ewan McGregor, Carrie Coon, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Goran Bogdan, and David Thewlis. It takes place in 2010 and follows a couple whose plan to get rich quick horribly backfires.
Longtime fans of the series were elated to find out that the fourth season stars Chris Rock, Jessie Buckley, Jason Schwartzman, Ben Whishaw, and E’myri Crutchfield. As reported by Decider, season 4 takes place in Kansas City in the 1950s.
It premiered over the weekend on September 27, and fans already want to know when it will be available to stream on Netflix.
Is Fargo season 4 going to be on Netflix?
I was unable to find an exact date for when Fargo season 4 will be released on Netflix and there’s a good reason for that. We previously reported that the series will unfortunately not be coming to Netflix anytime in the near future because Hulu won the licensing rights.
However, there are still plenty of shows to check out on the platform!
