Netflix movies and shows: The Babysitter: Killer Queen

The sequel to The Babysitter also came out this summer. The Babysitter: Killer Queen stars much of the same cast as the original with Judah Lewis, Samara Weaving, Robbie Amell, Emily Alyn Lind, Andrew Bachelor, Bella Thorne, Leslie Bibb, and Ken Marino all back for this second film.

The movie starts two years after the events of the first one with Cole now a junior in high school. He is not able to convince anyone except his best friend, Melanie, that what happened in the first film actually happened.

Unfortunately, due to him trying to explain what happened, his parents put him in a psychiatric school (is this a real thing?). But with the help of Melanie, her new boyfriend Jimmy, and their friends Boom-Boom and Diego, he escapes.

But, as Cole soon finds out, not everything is what it appears to be and his friends, they are not to be trusted. Let’s just say…blood starts spilling really quick.

So the cult is back and while they have enough blood for the sacrifice they need, they also need Cole’s “innocent” blood to ensure all their wishes come true. Classic satanic cults and classic horror movie business.

All is not lost for Cole though. A new girl, Phoebe, who he saw at the party they all went to after he escaped school shows up and helps him escape on her jet ski. Once safe, he tells Phoebe what was going on, and shockingly, she believes him.

Yes, it’s strange for people to escape on jet skis in a horror movie, but it’s also weird to decapitate a cult member with a surfboard (which also happens) so don’t expect “usual” from this movie.

There’s no news about whether there will be a third movie, but the ending does leave room for the story to continue.
