Netflix movies and shows: Teenage Bounty Hunters
If you’re looking for something a little more fun to watch that you missed this summer, Teenage Bounty Hunters might be just the thing. The show follows twin sisters, Sterling and Blair, who, along with a veteran bounty hunter, find and catch those who are skipping bail. They also have to deal with the everyday issues that come with being in high school.
The show stars Maddie Phillips, Anjelica Bette Fellini, Kadeem Hardison, Mackenzie Astin, Shirley Rumierk, and Virginia Harrison. It premiered on Netflix on Aug 14.
The twins get into the bounty hunting game because they bang up their dad’s truck and need the money to pay for the damages. They meet up with Bowser Simmons, an experienced bounty hunter, who gives them jobs and tries to make sure they don’t get into too much trouble.
Once they get into the bounty hunter life, they have to try and balance that with going to a deeply religious high school as well as drama with boys and fellow students. They also must do all this without their parents finding out. This work-life balance is harder than you think.
Besides finding criminals and those skipping bail, the show also deals with sexuality, friendship, bonds between siblings, crushes, first love, high school gossip, and problems with parents.
As the series goes on, the girls find they are actually good at this bounty hunting thing and they don’t want to give it up even after they get enough money to pay for the truck.
But the twins are not the only story here. Bowser and their parents also have interesting storylines that are weaved throughout the series. Bowser’s past relationships come into play as does Sterling and Blair’s parents and the lies they tell.
