Netflix movies and shows: The Umbrella Academy season 2
If you haven’t seen or at least heard about season 2 of The Umbrella Academy, you might be the only one. Netflix might pick and choose the stuff they advertise, but this show was clearly one they were making sure everyone knew about weeks ahead of time.
The premise of the series, based on the graphic novel by Gerard Way, is that 43 women around the world gave birth at the same time despite not showing any signs of pregnancy (yeah, no thank you). Seven of these children are adopted by billionaire Reginald Hargreeves who turns them into superheroes and calls them The Umbrella Academy. He gives them numbers as names, but luckily, their robot mother (what?) gives them actual names.
The first season introduced us to The Umbrella Academy and what their superpowers are. In the second season, the effects of the group not stopping the apocalypse are starting to show. The Umbrella Academy is forced back into time so they can try to save the world again. Unfortunately, they all end up in different years. Five ends up in the middle of a nuclear doomsday and to stop it and another apocalypse from coming, he has to find and reunite his siblings.
He finds Luther as the bodyguard for Jack Ruby, Diego is in a mental asylum and is trying to prevent the assassination of JFK, Allison is married to a civil rights activist, Klause has started a cult (no one is surprised), and Vanya has amnesia.and is a nanny. Not all of them want to go back to save the day and that’s only where the trouble begins.
