Lucifer casts Scott Porter in mystery role for final episodes

When Lucifer returns for the second half of its fifth season, a new face will join the LuciFamily with Hart of Dixie alum Scott Porter set to join the cast in a mysterious role!

Donning a Lucifer ballcap and smiling cheek to cheek, Porter broke the exciting news to his followers on Twitter Wednesday afternoon. “Why am I wearing a Lucifer hat, grinnin like a fool, Lucifans?” Porter wrote in a tweet, ” I am joining [Lucifer] for Season 5 & 6!”

Not only will Porter be joining the series for its final episodes, but he’s already coming to the aid of his Lucifer family!

In addition to announcing his casting in the Netflix hit, Porter revealed he’s participating in a fan Zoom call to raise money for Huntington’s Disease which is being auctioned off by Lucifer himself, actor Tom Ellis.

Who will Scott Porter play in Lucifer season 5B and season 6?

Currently, it’s unknown who exactly Scott Porter might be playing; however, the fact that he’ll appear in both Lucifer season 5B and season 6 does seem to allude to him playing a significant role in the show’s final episodes.

Considering 5B will put a focus on Lucifer’s relationship with his father and his feud with his twin brother, Michael, it doesn’t seem out of the question that Porter could perhaps play a biblical character.

Throughout the course of the show, we’ve already had the pleasure (and displeasure) of meeting several of Lucifer’s siblings including the aforementioned Michael as well as Uriel, Azrael, Remiel, and, of course, Amenadiel; his mother, Goddess aka Charlotte; the mother of all demons, Lilith; and Eve, of Adam and Eve fame. So it seems highly likely that Porter’s casting could be to fill the role of yet another biblical figure on the show.

While there are many figures who Porter could play, there is one that stands out in particular: Castiel.

Will Scott Porter play Castiel in Lucifer season 5 and 6?

From the moment Remiel first dropped the character’s name back in season 4 in conversation with Amenadiel, fans have been wondering whether Lucifer might eventually introduce the character in some way.

Although there’s been no mention of Castiel since, he is one of only two of Lucifer’s siblings to have only ever been mentioned and never seen — the second being Raphael. With the show nearing its conclusion, now seems as good a time as ever to pull the trigger and bring any final family members into the fold and the addition of Castiel could definitely add some spice to the final episodes.

While little is known about the Castiel of Lucifer‘s world, we do know that he loves to sing and does it frequently in the Silver City. After all, it’s why Amenadiel joked about Remiel coming to visit him as a way to get away from Castiel’s singing.

As Hart of Dixie fans will recall, Porter definitely can carry a tune which would make him a natural fit to play an angel with a passion for breaking out into song. Could Castiel even prove to be behind the musical numbers that will unfold in the show’s upcoming musical episode?

We’ll have to wait to see, but there definitely seems to be a good chance Porter could play Lucifer’s music-loving brother in what would be a casting match made in Heaven.

Are you excited about Scott Porter joining the cast of Lucifer and do you have any theories as to who he might play in the show’s final episodes?
