Safeguard your children and turn on your lights, Evil is coming to Netflix just in time for the spookiest season of the year!

Fans of the supernatural rejoice! Netflix has struck a deal with CBS TV Studios to license the freshman run of Evil just in time for the creepy season.

The TV series will premiere on the streaming platform on Oct. 1, a welcome entry to anyone’s scary viewing plans. But don’t worry, CBS All Access users, the Evil isn’t leaving that platform.

It’s just going to be available to stream on Netflix in a new licensing deal between Netflix and CBS.

Here’s what that deal looks like, via Deadline:

"The agreement is for one year and not exclusive, with the first seasons of drama Evil and comedy The Unicorn continuing to stream on CBS All Access. The ViacomCBS platform also will stream Season 2 episodes of the shows once they air on CBS. Evil and The Unicorn are both on the fall CBS schedule, which will likely start rolling out in November."

The deal with Netflix is meant to promote the show and draw in new viewers. Deadline‘s coverage of this deal points out the boost CW’s Riverdale and NBC’s Good Girls saw in their moderate linear ratings after their freshman runs premiered on Netflix in the lead up to their second seasons.

Evil is the only genre drama on CBS, and Netflix is home to more than one show with supernatural elements. Both Lucifer and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina come to mind.

Fans of those shows may enjoy the pair up of a forensic psychologist, Catholic seminarian, and technology contractor using their skills to investigate the otherworldly cases that may have been the work of demons or monstrous human beings.

For those of us who have missed seeing Mike Colter’s work beneath the Netflix banner, it will be a welcome return to the platform since his days as Luke Cage back when Marvel TV ruled Netflix. In any case, we recommend having your holy water nearby and perhaps a friend on speed dial. The devils this team squares up with fight dirty and they play for keeps.

Netflix announced the announced news and shared the full list of October new releases.
