Good Netflix movies: The Trial of the Chicago Seven

Release date: Oct. 16

The Trial of the Chicago Seven is written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, and it’s Netflix’s first big release of the year that has Oscar potential. I’m not saying it’s going to win or even be nominated, but it should be a part of the conversation.

The film stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Sacha Baron Cohen, Daniel Flaherty,Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Keaton, Frank Langella, John Carroll Lynch, Eddie Redmayne, Noah Robbins, Mark Rylance, Alex Sharp, and Jeremy Strong. That’s an AWESOME cast.

The film tells the story of seven individuals who were charged for protesting the Vietnam War and other issues at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
