Could a Schitt’s Creek movie be underway? After the beloved series completely dominated the comedy category at the Emmy Awards last night, fans are wondering what the possibility is of there being a follow-up film now that the series has come to a close. As for Dan Levy’s take on things, it could very well happen.

The Canadian sitcom walked away with seven primetime awards and nine Emmys altogether, winning for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Contemporary Costumes.

Wow. Needless to say, people love this show. And as the final season is dropping on Netflix incredibly soon, fans are about to have a major void to fill after finishing Schitt’s Creek.

During a virtual press room interview last night, according to People, David Rose actor Dan Levy was asked about there being a Schitt’s Creek movie. “Oh my gosh. Here’s the thing: Some people have been asking that,” he responded, adding that the finale was “the best way we could’ve ever ended the show.”

Levy continued with:

"If there is an idea that pops into my head and worthy of these wonderful people, it has to be really freaking good at this point. This is a really nice way of saying goodbye. Fingers crossed that we get a really good idea coming into our heads soon."

Although spinoff movies for shows don’t always live up to expectations, that hasn’t stopped diehard fans from wanting them. As for the Schitt’s Creek cast and crew, we’re pretty confident they could come up with something worth doing, and it seems Levy agrees.

While Levy was a guest on the web show Hot Ones back in July, he revealed that the sixth and final season would be premiering on Netflix in October. For those of you who are only able to watch the show via the streaming service, it’s almost time to see how it all ends!

As for a movie to follow, we’re also crossing our fingers.
