The novels chronicle the exploits of 14-year-old Enola, not the daughter but the younger sister of the world-renowned detective Sherlock Holmes, who is 20 years her senior. I read the whole series growing up and I can tell you that Enola (whose name is “alone” spelled in reverse) is just as witty, bright, and daring as her older brother.

Who plays Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes?

The role of Sherlock Holmes will be played by none other than Henry Cavill. You may recognize Cavill from his roles as Superman/Clark Kent in Man of Steel. If you’re a fan of high fantasy, you might also know him as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher.

Enola Holmes cast

The film doesn’t come out until September 23, but I already know I’m going to love it. It has an amazing cast, featuring Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown as the titular character. I think Brown is going to bring the rebellious young heroine off the page wonderfully.

Helena Bonham Carter, who portrayed Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter series and Princess Margaret in The Crown, will play Enola’s mother, Eudoria Holmes.

Sam Claflin, who portrayed Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games franchise, will be playing Mycroft Holmes.
