Netflix is adapting The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan

Netflix movies based on The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan are in the works

It’s not Percy Jackson and The Olympians, but it’s the next best thing.

Netflix is adapting The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan, who is best known for his Percy Jackson and The Olympians book series, according to a report from Deadline.

Riordan announced the news on social media with a short video.

The Kane Chronicles is a trilogy from Riordan, and the first book, The Red Pyramid, was published in 2010. The second and third books, The Throne of Fire and The Serpent’s Shadow, were published in 2011 and 2012.

The book series plays on Egyptian mythology and tells the story of Carter and Sadie Kane, who are descendants of the Pharaohs.

The Deadline report did not share when to expect The Kane Chronicles movies on Netflix. At the time of publishing, we have to assume that the Netflix movies will not be released for at least a few years.

We don’t now much about the upcoming adaptations of The Kane Chronicles at Netflix, but we do know what the books are about. I have to imagine, based on Riordan’s other works being adapted to films, that he will make sure, as much as he can, they stick to the source material and tell the story that needs to be told. That hasn’t always happened in the past.

Two Percy Jackson movies were made based on Riordan’s book series, and while they had a great cast with Logan Lerman, Alexandria Daddario, Brandon T. Jackson, Sean Bean, Pierce Brosnan, Rosario Dawson, Steve Coogan, and more, the movies were not very good.

Disney is now making a Percy Jackon TV series for Disney Plus. Hopes for the series are much higher!
