Sarah Paulson teases Ratched season 2 on Netflix
Ratched star Sarah Paulson chats about the frustrations of working during a pandemic and teases getting to work on the second season of Ratched on Netflix.
During a video press conference for Ratched on Netflix, an upcoming series from Ryan Murphy, Paulson shared that she’s eager to go play Mildred Ratched again, but that may not be in the near future.
Netflix ordered two seasons of the series when it was picked up, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Always known for giving it her all in any role she tackles, it’s easy to see why filming with so many safety precautions can be frustrating for Paulson. This is especially true when you have to bring to life such a complex character packed with so many emotions as Nurse Ratched.
Still, Paulson understands that safety comes first and expressed that she wants it to be safe before heading back to work with not so many restrictions. Paulson further shares that she’s going back to work soon, but not on Ratched, at least not yet.
Ratched renewed for season 2 at Netflix
In the series, Paulson plays a younger Nurse Ratched, a character fans first meet in the popular movie One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. The upcoming series takes audiences back to Mildred’s early days as she is hired as a nurse at an asylum hospital.
Later in the press conference, Paulson teased that season 2 is happening, but she’s not sure when production for it will even start. She’s excited, though, and shares that she looks forward to playing Mildred Ratched again.
Don’t hold your breath on it! The cast makes it clear that, with how many projects Ryan Murphy has going on and being in the middle of a pandemic, no one is sure when there will be time to film a second season.
