Cobra Kai is the most popular show on Netflix right now

There’s a new No. 1 show on Netflix! Cobra Kai has jumped Lucifer and is now the most popular show or movie on Netflix right now.

Cobra Kai was added to Netflix on Friday, Aug. 28, and it quickly shot up the Netflix Top 10 list all over of the world. In the United States and many other countries, Cobra Kai is the most popular show to watch right now.

I thought Lucifer would stick around as No. 1 on Netflix for a little while longer than it did. The new season was added to Netflix on Friday, Aug. 21, and it remained the most popular show on Netflix for a little more than a week.

While it’s not necessarily surprising that there’s a new show on Netflix, it’s particularly notable that Cobra Kai is the show that took Lucifer down. Cobra Kai is not a Netflix original series, not yet anyway. It’s a YouTube original series that moved to Netflix after Netflix picked up Cobra Kai for season 3. The third season will be the show’s first as a Netflix original series.

For those who don’t know, Cobra Kai is a spinoff of sorts of the super-popular Karate Kid movies. Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald created the series, which premiered on YouTube in 2018. The series brings back William Zabka and Ralph Macchio from the original movies. The cast also includes Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Decenzo, and Martin Kove.

Critics and fans rave about this series. If you’re a fan of The Karate Kid or just need a good, new show to watch, Cobra Kai is probably the show for you.

Cobra Kai season 3 is coming to Netflix in 2021. It’s early, but I think we can expect to see season 3 on Netflix in the spring of 2021. We might have to wait until summer, but that’s what we’re expecting right now.
