6 perfect ways to bring Lucifer season 5 to an end

Lucifer‘s long-awaited first part of season 5 brought a lot of game-changing revelations, a lot of darkness, another Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt), and more Deckerstar drama than you can shake a stick at. While that is all fun and good, as we settle into the long wait for the remaining have of the 16-episode season, people can’t help but speculate what will happen next.

As showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich said and fans well know, Lucifer season 5 was supposed to be the very last season of the series. With Netflix giving a green light to season 6, Henderson and Modrovich took some threads from the former series finale to spin out into a new and final season. But what exactly are they? How will Lucifer season 5 end exactly? In honor of the six seasons of Lucifer, here are six potential endings that we think could happen in the series.

1. God is dead

Catchy title, right? Now, as fans of Lucifer the comics know, Lucifer the television series is not really based off anything going on in the comics. For one Tom Ellis’s charming take on the Devil is much lighter than the comics version.

While there have been nods to the comic series that inspired the show, they have been mostly aesthetic nods (Maze’s mask in “Once Upon a Time”, Michael’s scar). So no comic storylines have been, well, done.

It would be interesting to see the take on Lucifer tackling the storyline of God’s murder from the Holly Black-written run of the comics. Given that the series is a cop procedural, it would be pretty cool to see how DevilCop tackles a case within the Celestial realm.

Who knows? Maybe we’ll get to see more angels because of it. Now how likely is it? Probably not, it would definitely be darker than how the series usually goes. But it would be interesting.
