5 good Netflix shows to watch this weekend

1. Million Dollar Beach House

Million Dollar Beach House is a new reality series that premiered this week. It has been well received and is currently at No. 2 on the Netflix Top 10 list.

The series follows five Hamptons-based realtors who work for Nest Seekers International, and they help potential buyers search for multimillion-dollar beach homes. The competition is fierce as the Hamptons is a very sought after vacation destination.

2. Cobra Kai season 1 and 2

Thirty-four years after the events of the1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, the Cobra Kai series follows Johnny Lawrence reopening the dojo.

This series is based on The Karate Kid film franchise. Willaim Zabka plays Lawrence while Ralph Macchio plays his rival Daniel LaRusso. Fans will obviously recognize both from the movies!

Season one and two are available now on Netflix with a promised third season for 2021.

3. Greenleaf

This series, produced by Oprah Winfrey and Lionsgate television, follows the family of the same name and their scandalous secrets and lies.

You might think, many families have unsavory secrets and lies, but the Greenleaf family are leaders in the megachurch in Memphis, Calvary Fellowship World Ministries. Because of their standing in the church, society holds them to a high standard, and they are left wanting.

Season 1 through 4 are available to watch on Netflix right now. The fifth season is coming to Netflix on Sept. 10.

4. The Haunting of Hill House

Now is a great time to either watch or rewatch The Haunting of Hill House. It was recently announced that a second season entitled The Haunting of Bly Manor will be hitting Netflix this fall.

The first season follows the Crain family along two timelines. In the current day, we see the family dealing with paranormal experiences from their past and flashbackes of their childhood and the occurrences leading up to a fateful night that changed the family forever.

The Haunting of Hill House is one of the best Netflix shows so far.

5. Stranger Things

The standout series Stranger Things is a must-watch for any sci-fi horror fans, and anyone really. The series has three seasons currently available on Netflix and a fourth season on the way, eventually.

The series is a Duffer Brothers production that is set in the 1980s and follows a group of kids in the town of Hawkins, Indiana. The kids are witnesses to some supernatural happenings, and while they search for answers, they uncover more than they ever expected.

It is an excellent series for those nostalgic for the 80s, and for those who weren’t lucky enough to live the 80s, it is a fantastic look at that era. The episodes draw you in, and it is easy to binge-watch because you can’t wait to see what happens next.
