As previously mentioned, even though some of our favorite shows are starting to cautiously get back into production, the wait for new episodes will still be much longer than we’re used to. In a usual television season, we’d be gearing up for new seasons of the top shows on TV in a matter of weeks. But no one needs to be reminded that there’s nothing usual about anything right now. While we wait for our favorite shows to return, Netflix’s Young Wallander just might be a solid option for an interim binge-watch.

Based on Henning Mankell’s best-selling Kurt Wallander novels, Young Wallander stars Adam Pålsson as the legendary detective in a modern reimagining of the novels. In present-day Sweden, Wallander takes on his first case as a new police officer, and the formative experience will inform who he becomes both personally and professionally. The first season of Young Wallander will contain six gripping episodes and could very well become a new underrated hit for Netflix.

If you’re looking for a short, new series to watch while waiting for other series to return with new seasons, add Young Wallander to your watch list for a captivating new crime drama. The new original series makes its premiere just before the first new release Friday of the month.
