A list of the new Netflix movies and shows on August 28

Netflix added four new movies and shows on Friday, Aug. 28. Unlike like with some days with random Netflix new releases, all four movies and shows are worth watching today!

Overall, the biggest Netflix new release of the day is probably Cobra Kai. The first two seasons of the YouTube series and Karate Kid sequel series are now streaming on Netflix.

Netflix picked up Cobra Kai for a third season from YouTube, and now, Netflix is the official streaming home for The Karate Kid series. The third season is coming to Netflix in 2021.

If you’re a fan of The Karate Kid, you have to watch Cobra Kai on Netflix. It’s really, really good.

All Together Now is also available to stream on Netflix today. The new Netflix movie is based on the Sorta Like A Rock Star by Matthew Quick.

Moana star Auli’i Cravalho stars in All Together Now as Amber, a teenager with dreams of attending Carnegie Mellon to pursue music. Bretty Haley, who also directed the Netflix movie All the Bright Places, directed the movie.

Those are the top two Netflix new releases of the day, for sure, but the others might draw interest from some Netflix viewers. We highly recommend, both, Cobra Kai and All Together Now on Netflix, especially because we haven’t seen many new releases this week and won’t see many more until September.

Unknown Origins, a new Spanish thriller, tells the story of the son of a detective. He uses his knowledge comic books to decode a serial killer’s messages to stop more killings. It was directed by David Galán Galindo.

Netflix also added I Am A Killer season 2. The docuseries focuses on one murderer per episode of the series. The convicted killers give their accounts of what happened in each case.
